Job Description

An exciting opportunity for a motivated and brilliant software developer to be part of a team that is developing mobile applications for widespread adoption. The individual is responsible for assisting in the architecture, design and implementation of software based on the following outline:

 

  • Market research service delivered through a three tiered software architecture that will include:

1.     A consumer focused mobile application;

2.     A business logic server acting as middle-ware;

3.     A relational database serving as a data repository.

 

  • Additional features will include but not be limited to:

·         Data mining and reporting;

·         User configurable, multi-media templates;

·         Role and function based security;

·         Administrative functionality.

 

  • Software will have the ability to Integrate with multiple external applications through web-services.

Developer will be expected to work remotely with project management, provide periodic status reports and meet aggressive timelines. Developer will also be expected to have reliable web access as well as access to a workstation.

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering. 
  • Candidates in relevant degree programs will also be considered.

Experience

  • Will to learn new technologies and ability to adapt to a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to think laterally and implement innovative solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into functional specifications.
  • Breadth of knowledge and experience with software and computer systems.
  • Software development experience on multiple platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience with designing databases using relational data models.
  • Strong grasp of software development concepts and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience with completing software development projects.

Special Skills

  • A strong grasp of web-service based software architecture is required.
  • An understanding of Mobile application technology is highly preferred.
  • iPhone SDK experience is preferred but not required.
  • Understanding of software integration concepts is required.
  • Experience and understanding of Linux/Unix based Operating Systems is required.
